How to Prepare for the Trent River Raft Race

This year’s Great Trent River Raft Race takes place on June 23rd at Union Point in New Bern. Race category entries are on a first come, first serve basis. Registration is open until June 18th. Get ready for a summer of fun as competitors travel down Lawson Creek!

How to Sign Up

In order to sign up to compete in the Trent River Raft Race, vessel captains must register and pay the appropriate fee. During checkout, captains will need to provide a team name. The team name should also be provided to crew members so that they can register under the same name. The captain and crew will be able to purchase a discounted t-shirt upon registration.

What to Bring

Captains must attend an orientation meeting prior to the Trent River Raft Race on June 22nd at 6 p.m. A shorter orientation meeting will take place on race day at 10 a.m. Each team member will need to present their identification and sign a waiver at check-in. The captains and crew members should have their vessel ready to launch at their specified time and location.

Race Day

The Kayak and Canoe race will kick off the day’s events at noon. The SUP race launch will follow at 12:30 p.m. The Paddle Raft race begins at 2 p.m. followed by the Pedal Raft race at 3 p.m.

Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremony will take place at Union Point in New Bern at 5 p.m. The first-place, second-place, and third-place racers in each category will receive an award. Awards will also be given for most creative raft, best costumes, and to the last place finisher in the raft competition.
